Departure Gate Studios Ltd is the independent UK studio behind Ascendle®, the five-level word journey, and Ascendle Arena®, the competitive player-versus-AscendleBoT™ match.

Departure Gate Studios Ltd is a fledgling independent puzzle-game studio based in the UK. The studio was founded after the first Ascendle® idea began in a Houston departure lounge during an international business trip.

DGS builds puzzle games around quality, fairness, integrity and player respect.

About Ascendle®

Ascendle® is a five-level word puzzle game where every guess contributes to the final result. It takes the familiar five-letter word puzzle and gives it a bigger shape: five connected levels, pressure, recovery, performance history and post-run review.

About Ascendle Arena®

Ascendle Arena® turns the Ascendle® journey into a competitive player-versus-AscendleBoT™ match. Players compete across five levels against a deterministic opponent, with each level contributing to the match result.

In development. Early Access planned this autumn, ahead of the full launch planned for 1 December 2026.
